Solar System Installation Process
Helping You Every Step of the Way
We understand that choosing solar can feel overwhelming. With so many brands, products, and technical details to consider, it’s easy to feel lost in the process.
You’d love to research it all yourself—but who has the time?
That’s where we come in. Energy Base makes it simple by breaking down your options and giving you the information you need to make a confident, informed decision.

Consultation and System Design
The first step is a consultation to assess your energy usage and when you use the most power. Our team will guide you on how to get the best results from a solar system and provide an estimate of how much you could save on your energy bills.
We’ll then evaluate your roof space, either in person or using aerial imagery, to design the most suitable system for your property, energy needs, and budget. With an Energy Base solar system, you get a transparent, all-inclusive quote—no hidden costs, just quality solar tailored to you.
Applications and Approvals
Once you’ve accepted your quote, Energy Base takes care of all the necessary approvals before installation. In Mackay and across Queensland, this includes submitting applications to your electricity distributor to ensure your solar system is approved for grid connection. If needed, we also coordinate meter upgrades or reprogramming to enable seamless import and export of electricity.
The approval timeline can vary depending on your network provider, but typically takes between 2 to 6 weeks. If any additional council or state government applications are required, we’ll handle those as well, ensuring a smooth and hassle-free process.

Installation
Your solar system will be installed by our in-house team of professionally trained, accredited solar installers and licensed electricians. We don’t use subcontractors, ensuring every installation meets our high standards of workmanship and safety.
Before getting started, our install team will confirm the final placement of your panels and inverter to ensure everything is exactly as you expected. They’ll also be available to answer any questions throughout the installation process.
Next, we’ll install the wiring, mounting rails, panels, and inverter, followed by setting up system monitoring. Depending on the system size and property layout, installation can take anywhere from a few hours to a full day.
Once complete, we’ll provide an on-site system manual and a walkthrough of how everything works. We’ll also inform you of the expected date for your import/export meter installation so you can start enjoying the benefits of solar as soon as possible.
Final Checks and Ongoing Support
We’ll provide you with a full list of your solar panel and inverter serial numbers for your records. Before we finish up, we’ll walk you through the system to ensure you’re completely satisfied with the installation.
If you’d like ongoing support, we also offer maintenance services to keep your system performing at its best for years to come.
