Queensland Battery Booster Program Update (2025)

The Queensland Battery Booster Program — which offered rebates of up to $4,000 for eligible homeowners installing approved battery systems — is now closed to new applications.

The program, delivered by the Queensland Government, aimed to make home battery storage more affordable for residents by providing rebates based on income eligibility and system size. While the initiative successfully helped many households reduce their energy bills and reliance on the grid, it has now reached its funding limit and officially ended.

Homeowners who submitted applications before the closure date may still have their rebates processed, provided all program conditions and installation requirements are met.

Although the program has closed, Queensland residents can still access potential savings through:

  • The Federal Solar Battery Rebate, available nationally.

  • Local energy retailer incentives and virtual power plant (VPP) offers.

  • Long-term savings from installing high-efficiency solar and battery systems.
